Start your sample business letter with addresses. Your own address should always be in the top right-hand corner of the first page. The address of the recipient should go lower down on the left-hand side. The date can be in one of two places: beneath your address or beneath the reader’s address. In your salutation make sure that you spell the recipient’s name correctly, mention the gender and proper title. The word ‘Dear’ always comes before the name of the person you are writing to, even if you don’t know him. If you know the name of the recipient and write “Dear Mr./ Mrs….”, you letter should end with “Yours sincerely”. After your short opening, give your purpose at once, using such kinds of phrases like “I would like to inform you …..”, I’m writing to enquire about..” Use a few short paragraphs to go into greater detail about your main point. If one paragraph is all you need, don’t write an extra paragraph just to make your letter look longer. Your last paragraph should include requests, reminders, and notes on enclosures. If necessary, your contact information should also be in this paragraph. Here are some common expressions used when closing a business letter: “I look forward to…”,” If you require more information.”,” Thank you for taking this into consideration” and other. In the closing you can thank in advance and give best wishes.
